The Northwestern Bus Improvements Project was a joint Auckland Transport (AT) and Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency initiative to deliver a programme of bus service improvements over a 5-year period from 2020, to support growth in Auckland’s North-West.
Subcontracted to WSP New Zealand, throughout 2021, cOlab provided Service User Experience Design and Master Planning / Site Planning advice for the construction of two new Bus Interchange locations - at the Te Atatu Road and Lincoln Road access points to the Northwestern Motorway.

We used internationally-recognised transit service design approaches to ensure transfers between bus services for passengers at each interchange are as seamless as possible and that each interchange will produce increased bus service use in the North-West from Day One of service launch in 2023.
